Don’t miss the chance to bring your work to an international stage and have it seen by some of the most respected names in photography today.

## Categories

You still have a few days to choose your category and submit your work. The **Single Pictures** category is open across four sections – People, Streets, Spaces, and Creative – with one overall winner awarded the title of **Photographer of the Year 2026**.

If you have developed a more structured body of work, there is still time to enter the **Projects & Portfolios** and **Book Award** sections, designed for photographers who want to tell a story through a coherent sequence of images.

Within **Projects & Portfolios**, two special awards are also up for grabs: the **URBAN Press Award**, which gives one photographer the opportunity to be published in leading photography magazines and publications worldwide, and the **Patricia D. Richards Legacy Award**, open to all photographers under 35, who are automatically eligible.

Under 35? You can also enter the **URBAN Photo Arena**, a platform for the next generation of photographers.

Photographers entering Projects & Portfolios are also in the running to be personally selected by **Mark Power** for the group exhibition ***Beyond the Surface***, featuring 3 to 5 projects at **Trieste Photo Days from 23 October to 8 November 2026**.

## The jury

You still have the opportunity to have your work evaluated by some of the most authoritative professionals in international photography.

The Single Images section will be chaired by **Christopher Morris**, world-renowned photographer and founding member of VII Photo Agency; the Projects & Portfolios section by **Mark Power**, member of Magnum Photos, author of major publications and with works held in the collections of the V&A and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

## The prizes

The trophies and medals for this edition are unique artworks created by **Giorgio Celiberti**, an artist of the Venice Biennale, each accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Winners will also receive vouchers, high-end photographic equipment and an invitation as a guest of honour to the awards ceremony at Trieste Photo Days.
