ProfiFotoWith the support of the NEW TALENT AWARD, photographers are empowered to transform the “images in their imagination” into tangible projects. The award is not about submitting completed series on a specific theme, but about presenting compelling image ideas that spark curiosity and promise more.
All winning entries will be published in the German photography magazine ProfiFoto and featured in a group exhibition supported by WhiteWall.
Submission Requirements
To participate, please submit:
A brief project description or concept (max. 2,000 characters)
5 to 10 sample images that reflect your personal visual language
Awarded projects must be completed within eight weeks of the jury's decision. Exceptions may be granted after prior agreement with the organizers.
The competition focuses on lens-based photography. AI-generated content must be clearly labeled and may only serve to illustrate the concept behind a project.
Prizes An expert jury will select five photography projects. From the ten winners across both annual competitions, three outstanding projects will receive cash prizes totaling €3,000:
1st prize: €1,500
2nd prize: €1,000
3rd prize: €500
All winning works will be published in ProfiFoto and shown in group exhibitions supported by WhiteWall.
Jury
The jury includes editors from ProfiFoto magazine, as well as representatives of Canon, WhiteWall, laif agency, Hahnemühle, and independent photo curators.
Important Information
Participants must hold all rights to the submitted works. The organizers reserve the right to exclude entries that violate ethical or moral standards. By submitting, participants confirm that they are the sole authors of the concepts and images, are entitled to use them freely, and that the works are free from third-party claims. The submitted concepts and images may be used for promotional and journalistic purposes related to the award. The organizers are entitled to exhibit the selected and finalized projects and publish them in this context. Please note: No additional usage fees will be paid for the exhibition and journalistic presentation of awarded projects.
