Filter PhotoOpen to emerging and early-career artists and arts administrators, the Filter Photo Fellowship offers a unique, experiential opportunity to work collaboratively with an established, non-profit arts organization. It is designed to foster the professional development of an artist or arts administrator seeking to better understand and develop skills in the workings of a small non-profit.
In addition to supporting the organizational capacity of the organization, the Fellow will work to ideate and facilitate public programming for Filter Photo, with an emphasis on highlighting the range of voices in contemporary photography. Public programming can include workshops, lectures, and community events. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Fellow may solicit proposals for programs from the community, in addition to designing their own programs, and will also provide administrative support for regularly scheduled programs that occur during their Fellowship. Additional learning opportunities include art handling and installation, and program planning for the annual Filter Photo Festival.
We are looking for applicants with a strong sense of initiative who are eager to use their unique experiences and perspective to influence the development of programming at Filter Photo. The Fellow will independently handle tasks with flexible working hours. The Fellow is required to work one shift on-site at the gallery per week, as well as attend weekly staff meetings (which can be in-person or remote). They will also assist at in-person and online events and provide support for exhibition installations.
This is a 10 hour a week position lasting from June 1st, 2025 – May 31st, 2026. Compensation includes ongoing mentoring with staff and industry professionals (as available), in addition to a stipend of $15,000 (paid monthly).
